of separate celebration by Archvadze-Gamsakhurdia and her supporters of "these
two significant dates", Dzidziguri called it "intrigues of present
authorities of Georgia, which spend huge money to not allow merging of all truly
national forces". "Union of National Forces" is going to
celebrate 12th anniversary of tragic events in Tbilisi on April 9, 1989, when
Soviet armies have severely suppressed meeting on Tbilisi prospectus of
Rustaveli. But on April 9, supporters of Gamsahurdia will gather not any more in

In the meantime, leader of opposition parliamentary fraction "Traditionalist"
Akaky Asatiani called authorities of Georgia to support Chechens in their
struggle of independence. At the press conference, he told that present
leadership of the country could not continue and develop course of the first
president of country Zviada Gamsakhurdia to support Chechen Republic for
creation of "Uniform Caucasian Organism". Asatiani arranged press
conference in connection with 10-years anniversary of realization of referendum
on independence of Georgia. Akaky Asatiani, working as head of the Supreme
Soviet of Republic of Georgia during the times of Zviade Gamskhurdia, considers
that present leadership of the country at all has no certain policy course in
relation to Chechen Republic. After departure from Georgia in the beginning of
1992, Zviad Gamsakhurdia with his family lived in Grozny for a long time, using
hospitality of ex-President of Chechen Republic and his personal friend Dzhokhar
Dudaev. While in Grozny, he organized sessions of members of the then parliament
of Georgia.
