Chairman
of parliament of Georgia, Zurab Jvaniya wrote an open letter addressed to
president Shevardnadze. This letter since several days roughly is discussed in
Georgian political circles. And it is not only Georgians. Estimations are most
different. But all things are in order.
Vice
- speaker of parliament, the chairman of Socialist Party, Vahtang Rcheulishvili
names "letter of blackmailer "letter of chairman of supreme
legislature of Zurab Jvaniya to president of the country, Edward Shevardnadze,
which contains an appeal to carry out urgent radical measures for struggle
against corruption and resolute personnel and institutional changes.
In
this letter, Zurab Jvaniya threatens with opposition to president of the country
in case that last will not remove opponents of the speaker of parliament from
posts in the government, will not appoint him to post of prime minister and will
not declare his as his successor, declared Vahtang Rcheulishvili. As he said,
representatives of team of Zurab Jvaniya have no right to speak about corruption
of somebody as namely they have introduced corruption in the country,
falsification of elections and economic chaos.Vice - speaker noted, that he is
not worried about the question on who will win - Jurab Jvaniya's team or
president of the country - the main thing is that they should leave authority.
In
published on Tuesday in Tbilisi newspapers of the appeal addressed to president,
Zurab Zhvaniya declared, that imperious echelons should leave those, who are
identified by society with corruption. In opinion of the speaker, now Georgian
society is on the verge of fatal crisis that contains danger of civil
disobedience, the hardest social cataclysms.
In
the meantime representatives of USA have found necessary to express. The
government of USA divides estimations of processes taking place in Georgia,
given in the open letter of the chairman of parliament, Zurab Jvaniya addressed
to president of the country, Eduard Shevardnadze. It was declared on Wednesday
at a meeting with Zurab Zhvaniya by coordinator of humanitarian help of USA in
the countries of CIS, William Teylor, who arrived in Tbilisi on Tuesday with
two-day visit.

published on Tuesday in Tbilisi newspapers of Zurab Jvavniya's open letter
addressed to president of the country contain an appeal to the head of the state
to carry out urgent radical measures on struggle against corruption and resolute
personnel and institutional changes.
As
informed in the press-service of parliament of Georgia, William Teylor noted in
a meeting, that fixing of such estimations is duly in that plan that there was
no danger in construction of independent and democratic Georgia and its future
statehood. Zurab Zhvaniya noted at a meeting, that his letter is not directed
against the president of the country. As he said, to rescue the country and its
population is possible only by means of deciding radical measures, on the first
place among which, there should be a struggle against corruption.
In
Zurab Zhvanija's open letter, it is marked, that imperious echelons should leave
officials, who are known to society for their corruption. In opinion of the
speaker of parliament, now Georgian society is on the verge of fatal crisis that
contains danger of civil disobedience, the hardest social cataclysms.
It
is necessary to note, that Eduard Shevardnadze is one of the first, who
responded to letter of Jvaniya. In his peculiar manner, «gray-haired foxes»
declared, that «shares concern of the chairman of parliament and counts this
appeal very opportunely».
