10, Turkish parliament satisfied inquiry of the government and voted for the
sanction of sending of armies across the borders of the country, and also
reception of foreign armies in the country. Against voted 111 deputies, among
whom deputies of the Virtue
Party (VP) make the
majority. Opponents in this case have acted against support of inadequate
reaction of NATO circles on acts of terrorism of monthly prescription that
results in unjustified cruelty and destruction of the peaceful population in
Afghanistan. Chairman, VP Recai Kutan sharply condemned spiritless position of
the present government as he expressed, «with an advancing even of the
leadership of the NATO».
Thus,
it is authorized to authorities to send within six months armies abroad and also
to receive in the country foreign military forces. Basically this decision is
simply confirmation of obligations of Turkey within the framework of NATO as all
members of this block act in the given situation as a united front against up to
the end of the uncertain opponent in central - Asian depth. Though as a whole,
the Turkish public obviously is not in delight from prospect of participation of
the its soldier in the Afghan adventures. Membership in the NATO dictated such
decision, differently there is no sense be the ally. Besides it is note worthy,
that the probability or that there is not direct necessity of the country of
sending of Turkish divisions. USA and other allies while only are content with
military base Injirlik (in English - Fig grove!), which serves as a refueling
point for air transfers in a zone of operations.
However,
on this background, are ignored the dramatic events are occurring in last days
in Abkhazia, which are rather important for Turkey. In Turkey are living
significant population of North Caucasian origin, who are generally named as
Circassians. Many Adjars are in the country, in other words, Georgian Muslims,
who are descendants of emigrants from Adjaria. There are a lot of Abkhazians. It
is paradoxical, that ancestors of both groups appeared in Osmanli possession in
view of conquer of Caucasus by Russian armies. And now they should make a choice
between Georgians and Abkhazians to be defined in sympathies.
As
a rule, Turkish MASS MEDIA show incompetence in the Caucasian problems and
increase of intensity in Kodori Gorge and as interstate aspects of the conflict
are much unknown. At the same time, aggravation of confrontation and retraction
of Russia in the military conflict can put an end to Georgia - Turkish
rapprochement within the framework of prospective military - political and
economic integration of Georgia in European structures. Certainly, there will be
problems with a conclusion of the Russian military bases in the foreseeable
future from the Georgian territory, including base in Gudauta. It is not a
secret, that in Turkey, they do not understand subtleties and details of an
event in a zone of clashes, let alone that they have no any information on
groups of Ruslan Gelayev or Swan guerrillas, David Shengelia. However, in
Abkhazia volunteers from Turkey are available, they have left the country under
tourist visas. From Turkey to Abkhazia or Georgia, there are enough channels for
penetration, and here it is very difficultly to calculate position of official
Ankara.
In
the meantime, more and more are increasing anti-Georgian disinformation attack
of MASS MEDIA of Russia, which causes serious anxiety in Baku, where Georgia is
considered as the bridge to brotherly Turkey and further in European paradise.
If only Georgia, however, will be involved in an orbit of pro-Russian policies,
Azerbaijan should forget about independent foreign policy round of Moscow.
In
connection with fights in Abkhazia, Baku newspapers express guesses and draw
gloomy pictures. «Putin is more necessary to Bush, than Shevardnadze» - writes,
«Mirror», marking futility of expectations of the Georgian president from the
West. Independent experts, referring to Tbilisi sources, speak about a
possible negative role of the Former Chief of Security Council, Igor Georgadze,
who while disappearing in Russia has arrived recently, in opinion of the
Georgian authorities, in Sukhumi. A number of leaders of opposition parties
consider that country together with Georgia should leave from structure «useless»
CIS, which looks the third wheel of a bicycle.
In
this connection, recent announcements of Bush for support of the project of oil
pipeline of Baku-Tbilisi-Jeihan appeared very opportunely. Besides according to
the head of state oil companies (GNKAR), Natik
Aliyev,
work began from creation of the international consortium for implementation of
the project of export of gas pipeline of Shahdeniz (Baku)-Tbilisi-Erzerum,
documents which were signed by Georgian and Azerbaijan representatives on
September 29 this year.
As
eagerness of authorities of Azerbaijan is favorable to hunting of Americans for
terrorists to the most remember for the Azerbaijan newspapers began arrest of
the citizen of Egypt, who at the presence of the representative of the American
embassy on September 12 was sent from Baku to Cairo by the plane, which has
specially arrived for him in «city of winds». Moscow «Independent newspaper»
at once hastened to inform about capture in Baku of the «terrorist» involved
in acts of terrorism, on September 11. However, Baku authorities «for the sake
of investigation and in order to prevent outflow of data», have not named any
details and names.
It
is necessary to note that in Azerbaijan and Turkish MASS-MEDIA practically in
one tone speak about expected radical and global changes in a world policy after
September 11. Many newspapers and the editions applying for solidity, even dream
about benefits which, possibly, promises expected new world order. In this
connection the joke about Khozha Nasruddin involuntarily is recollected.
Khozha
and his spouse have woken up at night due to terrible noise in the street. The
sleepy old man has turned himself in a blanket and has come out to street to
understand, what is the matter. In darkness some swindlers have snatched out
from him the blanket and disappeared. And he returned - upset at all and
has lain in bed. The disturbed wife asked: «Khozha, what is that noise all
about, what for is such turmoil? - Yes, all this was conceived due to our
blankets. Now we can sleep quietly».
Not
to remain without a blanket, having jumped out on noise, the venturing countries
of the NATO!
