The
proceeding of military action of USA and their allies against Afghanistan splits
the world more and more by a principle of «own - other's». To this not in
small degree promotes ideological appeals of the head of White House, who
repeatedly dared to speak from a position of Christian fundamentalism and
extremism, declaring about crusade against Afghanistan, offering to make a
choice between USA and «terrorists». Thus the main criterion, on which
Washington is going to define, who is the terrorist and who is not, is the
degree of support of USA. Such position of Washington causes increasing censures
and criticism, as in the Islamic countries (and is more true about the countries
with Muslim population), and in Europeans.
Some
European newspapers openly accuse USA of neo-colonialism. So German «Handelsblatt»
writes – «Struggle for psychological influence on public has passed into
neo-colonialist scales: the television staff inspires that the exchange of
attacks are occurring between superpower and «third world». However, here
there is a question, whether expression of «superpower» is justified in this
connection in general. In time of «cold war», USA and Soviet Union due to the
huge nuclear arsenals were considered as the major factors in world policy.
After collapse of communism, America by virtue of economic, technological and
military potential appeared the unique leader.
However,
in epoch of terrorism, criteria for comparison have disappeared. Hysteria in USA
in connection with cases of disease by Anthrax is evidence that high-civilized
society is very easy to shake by rather simple means. Danger of terror proves
helplessness of protective mechanisms of progressive system. The president of
USA Bush reacts to this threat with old reflexes of superpower. However,
military operations should be proportional and directed exclusively on punishing
of criminals. Attacks without discrimination are counter-productive, and
announcements about unconditional fidelity only create illusion of safety».
Many
European publications criticize USA for so-called «humanitarian action», when
after bombardments on Afghans drop packages with meal. «American strategy of
dropping of food stuffs from planes during proceeding bombardments, all appears
not more than pure propagation. Packages practically do not reach to civilians
living in misery. More often, they appear in hands of Taliban, who have
necessary logistic to collect the dropped packages in remote areas», - writes
German «Vestfelishe Rundschau».
In
the meantime, many international observers mark that war against Afghanistan has
created a new situation not only at global level. All strategy of USA, which was
adopted in Washington during last 50 years, is exposed to serious test. Bright
example is that of mutual relation with Saudi Arabia. In opinion of analysts
never before in relations between USA and Saudi Arabia, which on an extent of
half century were considered as natural allies, were not so intense. Americans
are dissatisfied and express frank irritation. They are convinced, that Bin
Laden is supported by support of supreme circles of the Saudi royal house and
that Saudi Arabia sabotages cooperation with USA in business of freezing of
accounts of Bin Laden. In this connection, some observers assume, that the
crisis caused by it, can result in consequences, which cannot be controlled.
