In
the newspaper «Izvestia» appeared the material under the title «Maskhadov is
departing Chechnya», whose authors with reference to «sources in the power
institution» report, that between Viktor Kazantsev and President of Ichkeria,
Maskhadov allegedly already reached «preliminary understandings». Newspaper writes: «Aslan Maskhadov and fighters subordinated
to him are ready to return weapon and to end terrorist actions against the
subdivisions of Russian troops in Chechnya in exchange for the safe departure
from the republic. The preliminary understanding about this was reached during
today's dialogue of Kazantsev and Zakayev». According to the source,
Proceedings «continue». Maskhadov will be given «green corridor» for the
departure from Chechnya into one of the foreign countries. Supposedly, Maskhadov
will want to leave for Malaysia, where his son and other relatives have been
staying». Newspaper also reports that Chechen soldiers, who were subordinated
personally to Maskhadov, after the handover of weapon will also permitted to
leave from Chechnya.
Russian
sources report that between Kazantsev and Zakayev took place first telephone
conversation, but not that meeting, in the course of which supposedly was
discussed all these questions. At
the same time, confirms the newspaper «Izvestia». With reference to Russian
special services, «taking into account information, obtained from Akhmed
Zakayev, special-subdivisions of Russian grouping strengthen hunting for other
leaders of the illegal armed formations, in particular Shamil Basayev and
Khattab».
It
is obvious that, publishing similar propagandistic reports, Moscow continues its
unsuccessful attempts to split Chechen resistance, contradicting the so-called
«Maskhadov» side of Basayev. Hence is the rumor that because of the
information allegedly obtained from Zakayev, «Russian grouping strengthens
hunting for Basayev and Khattab». At the same time, Russian special services in
every possible way try to discredit Chechen side in face of President Maskhadov,
who consented to meet with representative of Kremlin.
It
is obvious that Russian side systematically ties propagandistic cliché into the
consciousness of community about the so-called «dead and imputed» Chechen
politicians from one side and «extremists and terrorists» on the other side.
It is necessary to identify that in many cases, Chechen side itself helps Moscow
to realize its concept, without suppressing in time similar impulses. Thus,
instead of the fact that deeply to be agitated in connection with the constantly
repetitive provocative questions of Russian and western journalists about the
so-called Chechen extremists and irreconcilable, who do not obey President
Maskhadov orders, Chechen representatives are released into the broad analysis
about the fact that «they (i.e. notorious extremists) will be proved to be, in
this case, out of the law, or - my ourselves will tackle with them!»
It
is necessary to note that the West, which remains accurate to its policy of dual
standards, after 11th September actually forgot about all its charges
in the address of Russia and openly turned to the side of the Kremlin in its
genocide war against Chechen people and states. It suffices to recall the
pro-Russian calls of Bush to Maskhadov «to renounce its internal extremists and
to break relations with the international terrorism. But in the recent days,
especially against the background of failures of the military campaign of the
West in Afghanistan, the obviousness of the support of the West to the actions
of Russia in Caucasus became to the obsessive indecency.
Thus,
according to report of the British publication of «Times», Great Britain at
the given moment rendered the most decisive support to the military campaign of
Russia against Chechens. Foreign
Secretary Jack Straw
stated that Moscow encounters «present terrorist threat» from the side of
rebels, who attempt to liberate from Russia. In his statements during visit to
Moscow, notes «Times», Straw
emphasized: «We understand that Russia encounters serious threat to its safety
in Chechnya, and we condemn the actions of terrorists, who threaten territorial
integrity of Russian federation. There are no doubts about the presence of the
connection between some Chechen extremist groups and Ben Laden, and it is
vitally important to split these contacts».
