president, Eduard Shevardnadze doesn’t leave his post and is turned to the
parliament with the proposal to accelerate making a decision about the creation
of the office of ministers and to select the new management of the highest
legislative organ of the country. Head of the state stated about this on
Thursday in direct transmission of the first channel of Georgian state
television. The President Shevardnadze said that this decision taken by them to
send into the dismissal government in full strength contradicted his attitude,
but it was caused by the most complex situation and it is made in the interests
of the Georgia, for the peace and the calmness of the society.
He noted that he is not irresponsible person in order in this situation to leave
his post.

Shevardnadze expressed readiness, in particular, for the management of the
process of the formation of the office of ministers after adoption by the
parliament of the corresponding resolution. President called on participants of

the chairman of the parliament of Georgia, Zurab Zhvania approximately 2 weeks
ago obtained allegation from the Kremlin that he can be supported as the
successor of Shevardnadze, if he takes political game for himself. As

Moscow was ready to support also the former chief of the state security of
Georgia, Igor Georgadze and vice-speaker of the parliament, Vakhtang
Rcheulishvili.
