«Organization
of United Nations will not be able to accept the capitulations of the field
commanders of Taliban. After consultations in Security
Council, the
adviser on Afghanistan for the UN, Lakhdar Brahimi
stated that international organization does not have possibilities and necessary
means for adopting the capitulation. Furthermore, UN does not at present have
its representatives in Afghanistan, he added».
Reading
this report of the international agencies, which here since a week speak about
the desire of Taliban in Kunduz to surrender to Northern Alliance and UN,
impression is created, that Afghan mujahideen worries only about one thing,
immediately to surrender in captivity to survive at any cost. However, day after
day is passing, but Taliban are not surrendered at all. The international
agencies of news are overfilled by the most improbable reports. 60 Chechens were
drowned in river Amu; Taliban shoot children and doctors, Arabs shoot Taliban,
who want to surrender; Afghans - Taliban are demoralized and carry on skirmishes
with Arabs and Pakistanis, who are losing nothing, and so on, in the same spirit.
The absurdity of all these assertions not at all confuses the meters of western
journalism, who with serious physiognomy tell European and American residents,
that everything will end in a couple of days in Afghanistan.
It
is said that Mullah Nasreddin, who declared to neighbors, that halva is
distributed free of charge in market, he himself believed in his lie and rushed
to market after free halva together with the neighbors deceived by him. Known
anecdote came to memory, when on the eve, director of the news of Third channel
of Russian TV after ten-minute tirade about the fact that Taliban have lost
their temper, completely demoralized, and any minute now end negotiations about
their surrender, addressed with unexpected question to the correspondent in
Kabul. Tell, but why Taliban, until now, are not surrendered? Russian
correspondent in Kabul here sounded two conflicting versions. On one of them,
Taliban are still too strong. But on other, foreign mercenaries fear to
surrender in captivity, fearing violence!” Furthermore, journalist stated,
Northern Alliance does not want to storm the positions of Taliban, fearing
large-scale losses. As a whole, situation is ambiguous. Opposition cannot subdue
them and Taliban do not want to surrender.
Meanwhile,
real situation in Afghanistan is distant from that what western and Russian
propagandists sketch. Afghan troops as before retain not less than 6 provinces
in south and southeast of the country, including Kandahar. Mujahideen as before
monitor the province of Kunduz on the north of the country together with its
capital. Furthermore, Afghan mujahideen conducted
successful counterattack in the province of Helmand, after destroying the
grouping of Northern Alliance and after restoring their control over the large
part of the territory of province. As reported by agency Afghan Islamic Press,
Taliban compelled to retreat approaching of field commander, Abdur Rahman's
groups to the West of Kandahar city. They lost 30 people killed and left 11
units of armored vehicles in the battlefield.
In
the morning on Thursday became known about fierce fighting, which started in the
suburbs of Kabul. As underlined by information sources, both sides apply
artillery and rocket installations. Earlier, armed opposition confirmed that
Kabul and its vicinities are in full control of Northern Alliance.
Sources
of «Kavkaz-Center» in Pakistan report that press conference was held by
secretary of Mullah Omar, Tayyeb Agha on Wednesday in Spinbalak city, not far
from Kandahar. Agha stated to journalists that Taliban are determined to defend,
till the end, all provinces of Afghanistan, which are now in their hands. He
also stated that Amir of Islamic Emirate of
Afghanistan as before is present in Kandahar. It is time to forget about
terrorist acts on 11 September, advised Said Tayyeb Agha. «Forget about
terrorist attacks on September 11, war between Moslems and international
terrorists, such as America and Great Britain, now is going on, these terrorists
daily kill our innocent fellow citizens», he stated. Terrorist acts in USA were
not conducted by Taliban, this is the «problem of Bush and Tony Blair, and not
our problem», stated Agha.
Answering
the announcement of Washington, that USA is ready to pay 25 million dollars for
the catching Ben Laden, another highly placed representative of the government
of Afghanistan, Security Minister of the country, Muhammad Haqqani stated that
his government has proposed 50 million dollars for catching of President of USA,
George Bush. «Americans proposed 25 millions for Osama Ben Laden. We will give
50 million dollars for catching of Bush despite the fact that Afghanistan is
very poor country», stated Security Minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
