Mass-Media with reference to Ukrainian sources in Interior Ministry of the
Republic reported recently that in
Odessa was arrested certain Khamzat Hasarov, who was represented as «head of
counter-intelligence» in the government of Maskhadov. In this connection, an
announcement was made in special release by
information bureaus of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in Odessa department Of RUKh.
In this statement, Chechen representatives in particular, in Odessa actually
lived the native of village old Atagi of CRI, Khamzat Khazarov.
However - Khamzat Khazarov was participant of Russian-Chechen war neither in
1994-1996, nor war launched by Russian militants in 1999.

Khazarov never occupied any state offices in the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria
and, naturally, he was not the assistant to the President of Ichkeria and leader
of the service of the counter espionage of Ichkeria.

Khazarov conducted legal means of life in Odessa, frequently left for Moscow and
if desired, Russian authorities would have arrested him in Moscow long ago.
In the opinion of Chechen representatives, the arrest of Khasarov in Odessa by
local special services is provocation either by Odessa Human Rights Watch
organizations, which are noted for their frank pro-Moscow position, or Russian
special services, for the purpose to draw Ukraine in the military adventure of
Russia in the North Caucasus, to discredit the government of Chechen Republic of
Ichkeria and the war of liberation of Chechen people for their state
independence.
In this connection, information bureau of CRI expressed categorical protest
against retraction of the Ukraine into the military crimes of the Russian
military. «Participation of Odessa administration of the internal affairs of
Ukraine in the dirty activity of Russian special services must be thoroughly
investigated. Bequest by Taras Shevchenko of the centuries-old friendship of
Chechen and Ukrainian peoples must not become the victim of the great-power
imperial ambitions of Russian chauvinists», it is emphasized in the statement
of Chechen representatives.
Let us recall in this connection that in Odessa the provocations against
citizens of Ichkeria are achieved not for the first time. Several years ago, in
1996, precisely, here was killed well-known Chechen poet and performer of
patriotic songs, imam Alimsultanov. Chechen special services conducted then
their own investigation of this murder, which was not brought to completion
because of the new intrusion of Russia in CRI. However in the course of
preliminary consequence were obtained operational data, confirmed into the
consequence by some documents, about the fact that in the murder of imam
Alimsultanov were involved both the employees of Odessa
Department of Internal Affair (DIA) of Ukraine, and individual leaders,
authentically established, have very direct couplings with Russian Federal
Security Service (FSB). They obtained the data about the fact that it was
participating in the murder of Chechen poet and leader
of Russian musical group «DDT», Yuri Shevchuk. At the same time, Odessa DIA
actually refused to conduct any investigation of the murder of imam Alimsultanov.
