I have known Józef Bendziecha for many years and I have enjoyed many
opportunities to admire his artistic achievement. Looking back at his work
 I come to the conclusion that he has proved to be resistant to short-lived trends in drawing. 
 Such is his mastery in using  computer-aided techniques,
that they are often taken for the traditional ones. Unlike many other cartoonists
he makes use not only of computer hardware and software but also his great skill and creativity.
His cartoons, both the newest and the old ones, reflect his character and personality.
 It is impossible to mistake his works for someone else’s.
 For many years Józef created cartoons for newspapers and magazines,
during which time he touched upon many important issues. Strange as it may seem,
although he claims to be unable to keep to the point, he is at his best when his
 drawings are devoted to specific topics. It is in those works that the spectator discovers a
full spectrum of meanings expressed with great narrative skills. Similar artistic merit
can be found in his satirical drawings, suffused with modesty,
thought- provoking, far from evoking primitive giggle. I am impressed by his determination
and persistence in pursuing his goals. He did not let himself become enslaved
 by computer and  managed to avoid the temptation to simplify the process of artistic creation.
Instead, he harnessed the “machine” to develop his own, unique style.
 Perhaps working in seclusion, far from blase fellow artists helped him to protect his independence. 
One can derive a lot of pleasure from looking at his works, which seems worth mentioning here,
taking into account all the difficulties he has encountered. Despite this, however,
he remains the same uncompromising artist,
always faithful to himself, which has won him my great respect.
