
THE FIRST CARTOON WEB CONTEST IN IRAN, AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED
It is with great honor that Iran House of Cartoon in affiliation with Tehran Municipality Art Organization have announced the award winners in The First
International Internet Cartoon and Caricature Contest in Iran.
This inaugural contest attracted 475 entries from 34 countries to compete in the contest titled,
"Palestinians Are Homeless".

The statement of the Competition Jury:
The struggle of Palestinian people during the past 50 years has always been
on top of the international agenda. However, the latest round of this
unequal conflict is taking place between a nation, which is struggling to
regain its occupied lands and enjoy the right of leading an independent
life, amid an army equipped with the state of art war machinery.
The encounter between time two brings to mind a bitter jest which takes
shape in the shocking pictures that cartoon artists create amid give
everyone a moment of pause.
Prompted by the aforesaid motives, the Iran House of Cartoon affiliated with
Tehran Municipality Cultural Organization, decided to hold the first
international Internet competition under the title of the "Palestinians are Homeless "
After several phases of comparing 475 pieces of drawings and with a view to
the ultimate meaning of competition title, satirical view, artistic values
and the ideas being put across by the artists
through their drawings the creators of 11 Artworks have been short‹ listed
for the final award and a plague of honor winner by the jury members.
