Entries:
  1. Each entrant must submit three original works, drawn in color.

  2. The size of each work is from 297mm×210mm(A4) to 1030mm×728mm(B1).

  3. Please leave a 20mm margin around the drawing.

  4. Don,t draw on thick paper or illustration board.

  5. Only professional cartoonists can participate in the exhibition.

  6. Titles or captions must be written in English or Japanese in clear block letters.

  7. There is no entry fee.

  8. All expenses for sending the works, including postage and insurance, must be borne by the entrants.

  9. Works that have aleady won a prize or have been published cannot be accepted.

  10. All works belong to Kyoto Seika University Cartoon Department whether accepted or not. They will not be returned.

  11. Only entrants whose works are accepted will be presented with a catalogue after the exhibition. Except for the catalogue, the results of the select committee will not be sent to entries. But prize winners will be informed by letter.

  12. Some of accepted works will be printed in a brochure, on posters, in the world press or other printed matter for the purpose of publicizing the exhibition. In these cases, any fee for the use of works will not be paid. However, if we have plan to use some works for purposes other than the above, we will first negotiate with the entries about his or her fee.

  13. Entrants whose works are accepted must agree to their possible use on the Internet by KICC for publicizing the exhibition.

Entry form:

The entry form must be filled out in English or Japanese in clear block letters. Entries must be accompanied by a completed and signed entry form.

Artist must indicate his or her intention whether he or she will send works to us or not by the postcard attached, as soon as possible.

Exhibition:

The exhibition will be held for 2 weeks in September 2006.
All accepted works will be exhibited and more than one work will be printed in catalogue.

"HUMOURfest 14"
Italy

Regulations

1) The Borough of Foligno announces its International Competition of Humour "HUMOURfest 14" devoted to the theme "
Water: the last drop".

2) Participants may present a maximum of 3 original works, illustrations or cartoons, on the theme, size UNI A4 (21,0x29,7 cm). Choice of technique is free. The author is responsible for the content of his/her exhibits.

3) The following prizes have been established:
1st prize of 1550,00 euro; 2nd prize of 1050,00 euro; 3rd prize of 520,00 euro; Popularity prize "Topino d'oro" awarded according to visitors' votes during the exhibition. The prize-winning works, together with those recommended by the Jury, up to a maximum of 20, will remain property of the Organizers as endowment to the Intemational Humour Centre of Foligno.
The exhibition catalogue will contain the names of all participants, as well as a reproduction of the prize-winning and specially-mentioned works.
The authors of the latter will receive, free of charge, 2 copies of the catalogue. The winning work will be used as a poster for the enterprise and as a cover for the exhibition catalogue.

4) Requests not to be entered into the competition will be accepted. Such a request will exclude the artist from the prize awards.

5) The works will be submitted to close examination by a qualified
Commission of Judges consisting of representatives from the world of art, culture and institutions. The decision of the Commission of Judges is unquestionable.

6) The works, together with a brief curriculum of the artist, must arrive by 2 p.m. on 31st january 2006 post-free, without either frame or glass, indicating the artist's name, surname and address, as well as the title of the work and the technique used. The artist's unconditioned acceptance of the regulations shall be understood on delivery of the works for participation. The works will be handed back or returned postfree not before 30 days after the exhibition has closed. The exhibition, or part of it, may be temporarily transferred to other centres.

7) The works should be sent with an adequate packing which can preferably be reused.

8) The Organizers, even though they assure the utmost care in the custody of the works, decline any responsability for charges or claims, also by third parties, for any damages, tampering with, or theft.

9) The works will be chosen for an exhibition which will be held in Foligno during the Spring of  2006.

10) The works may be reproduced in a catalogue and in other prospective publications (books, newspapers, magazines, etc.). Such reproductions may be distributed to the press and/or publicized by any kind of media.

11) The present regulations are published in Italian, English and French. In case of controversy the Italian version will attest.

CARTOON COMPETITION SANTOMERA
2006

The Council of Santomera has organised this competition within the “Campaign Against Discrimination” and according to the following:

REGULATIONS :
1. All professional cartoonists of any countries may take part in this competition.
2. Each cartoonist can submit 2 originals, being essential that the original works have not been submitted to a previous competition.
3. TOPIC: “Say No to Discrimination” (social, physical, racial, sexual).
4. The works must be original, any painting technique being accepted. Top quality prints of works achieved by digital tools will be considered originals as long as the author sings them, and with the indication that it is Print no1.
5. The format of the works will be maximum 30*42 cms without frame.
6. PRIZES:
1 st PRIZE: 900 €
2 nd PRIZE: 600 €
Two runners-up: 150 €
7. The works should be received by the organization by January 31, 2006 at 14:00. No works will be accepted after that limit time.
8. Each of the works for submission must carry an identification label, clearly filled in, including name of cartoonist, as well as address, phone number, photograph, e-mail and a brief curriculum.

1. The decisions of the Jury which will be taken by majority vote and will be final, will be made public on February 20 th , 2.006. The prize might be considered desiertos on the Jury´s decision.
2. The selected works will be exhibited from 3 rd to 24 th March 2006 in Casagrande, in Santomera.
3. The prizewinning works will not be returned to their authors. They will become property of the Council of Santomera. The awarding of a prize to a specific word will automatically imply the waiving of its author´s royalties to the organisation.
4. The works not awarded as winners will be returned to their authors, provided theat this has clearly been by the authors in the identification label.
5. The prizes will be given in the place and time still to be programmed by the Council of Santomera, in a public ceremony.
6. It must be made clear that accepting all these regulations is the essential requirement to take part in the competition.

The Organizers are not responsible for damage

The winners as well as cartoonists qualified to participate in the post-competition

exhibiton shall be provided with a free copy of a catalogue published by the Organizers.

 

The Organizers provide the competition prize winners with free acccomodation

and boarding during the exhibition event.

 

The winners receive their prizes on condition that they are either present

at the opening of the post competition exhibition or

else they indicate a bank account where the money is  to be transfered.

The works become the property of the Organizers

and shall be included in the collection of the “False Mirror”

gallery located in KOKIS “ZAMEK”. 

Every participant in the competition agrees to their free of fees delivery

of works to the “False Mirror” gallery.

 Every work delivered to the competition ought to be accompanied (on the reverse)

with the author’s signature,  address and a telephone number.  

By sending their works to the competition the participants  agree

to the abovementioned regulations and they further agree

to the free of fees publication of their works for marketing

purposes connected with the competition and post

competition exhibition.  

The exhibition organisers are the final judges in the  interpretation of these regulations. 

By sending his/her works and taking part in the competition

the artist agrees to the abovementioned rules and regulations.

*The 12th International Ankara Cartoon Festival is going to be held between April 21st and 24th, 2006 during 23rd April Children’s Day activities, which will be celebrated for the 77th time in our country.

*All professional and amateur cartoonists will be welcomed to  join in by drawing cartoons for children.
Cartoons can be drawn in black-white or colorful using any technique in either A4 or A3 size.

*Cartoonists can join in the competition with an original  cartoon that can be understood by children. Competitors must write their names, surnames and addresses on the back of their cartoons.

*The deadline for the competition is February 15th, 2006.

The Ekaterinburg’s Cartoon Museum and Company ESTVinvite you to take part in The  Ekaterinburg International Cartoon Competition. It will take place in Ural’s capital in 1 April 2006.

Theme: “FACTOR OF TIME”

Size: A4 (210 x 297), A3 (297 x 420). Technique: free. Number of works: max. 5 cartoons.

Deadline: February 26, 2006

Only originals are required. No photocopies, xerocopies or digital medium.

No words in cartoons. The cartoons that have got prizes in other contests will not be examined.

Please don’t forget to write your name and address in left top corner on the back side of picture.

The Organization Committee doesn’t account for damages during posting.

Please, carefully pack up works for their safety.

The works sended to contest are remaining in disposal of  Committee and can be used for exhibitions, posters production, souvenirs, media publications and for using in advertising.

Participant must send together with his (her) cartoons, a short curriculum vitae and a photograph.
