KAMBIZ DERAMBAKHSH

        Born In Shiraz, Iran, in 1942, Kambiz Derambakhsh, began
contributing his caricatures to many well-known internal and international newspapers
and magazines from the early age of 15.
Later, upon completion of his studies and organizing many exhibitions in Iran and abroad,
he began teaching the art of caricature in a number of
educational and arts centers, including Tehran University, first as an instructor
and later as a professor.
To this date, this artist has organized 30 individual and over 30 collective, exhibitions
 in Iran and abroad, some before and some after the 1979 revolution. Among them:

Individual exhibitions at  Khane-ye-Aftab, Ghandriz Arts
Gallery, Seihoon Arts Gallery, Goethe Institute, Iran-American Society, Naghsh Arts Gallery,
Central Library of Tehran University, and Tehran Contemporary Arts Museum.
Kambiz
has also participated in quite a number of Collective exhibitions in Tehran.
 
Many arts centers, arts galleries, and cultural/arts museums throughout the globe,
 have witnessed individual and collective exhibitions bearing Kambiz's name.

Wilhelm Busch Museum (German Caricature Museum),
 Uberhausen Castle in Germany, Dusseldorf Arts Gallery, Basel Caricature Museum
 (Switzerland), Gabrovo House of Humor
& Satire, Vienna International Airport, Afro-Asian Moslem students Society in Gratz-Austria,
 Aida Arts Gallery in Hamburg, Central Hall of Dtisburg Library (Germany),
Central Hall of Mulheim Library (Germany), Art Gallery in Hamlen (Germany), etc.Kambiz
Derambakhsh
has also maintained his continual contributions to to many renowned
international newspapers, magazines, and periodicals for some 23 years now, namely: Nebel Spalter
of Switzerland, Die Zeite, La Republica, Le Monde, New York Times, Eulenspiegel, Suddeutsche
Zeitung, Frankfurter
Allgemeine, Frankfurter Rundschau, West Deutsche Allgemeine, Pardon, etc.
He also maintains a long-established cooperation with New York
Agency of the International
Syndicate of Caricaturists and Koch
Caricature Agency (CCC) in Munich. Kambiz
has won the following prizes and awards in international

contests:

- 1968: Sixth Prize of Montreal, Canada
- 1969: Rated to be among the Hundred Best Caricaturists of the
World,
 as indicated by a poll organized by Gabrovo House of Humor & Satire of Bulgaria.
-1973: Third Prize of Gabrovo House of Bulgaria.

- 1998: First Prize of International Festival of Caricatures,
Emental, Switzerland.
- 1998: Third Award and bronze medal of South Korea.
- 2002: Grand Prize of Poland for the best anti-war caricature. 
As an umpire, Kambiz has also sat as a judge for a number of
international exhibitions, and many of his works has been bought by some reputed
museums to be kept as an asset and visited by admirers of art.
